“Dokdo, That Sky and Sea” is a book designed to help readers learn more about Dokdo by casually flipping through the photos.

“Underwater photos alone cannot convey the image of ‘Dokdo,’ so we added some half-surfaced photos,” he explains. In addition to the underwater photos, this publication also includes drone photos, enhancing the quality of the work.

“Dokdo is the first place in Korea where the sun rises and the stars appear first. ‘Dokdo, That Sky and Sea’ begins at Dokdo’s Independence Gate Rock, where the sun rises, and concludes at Gaje Rock, where the sun sets.”

Beginning with a self-introduction, I shared stories about the corals, sea anemones, and seaweeds of the East Sea, a region I primarily studied.
I discussed large fish and mammals encountered in the waters of the Philippines and Indonesia, numerous juvenile fish and shipwrecks encountered in Papua New Guinea and the Red Sea, and underwater photographs taken in Socorro and Cancun, Mexico, along with stories about aquatic life and the ocean.
